keeping up with the Jones's
Christmas has come early this year. No, i mean it really has! I was down in my village last weekend and i had to run into a shop because it had started to rain... and the whole place was decked out in a christmas wonderland. IT WAS ONLY SEPTEMBER!
well, i guess we all need something to look forward to! I've heard some people saying they have already done their christmas shopping!
As a result of all this madness, i feel i need to keep up with the jones's, and i will be have a FREEBEE GIVEAWAY! yes indeed. This time next week i will be posting an item up for grabs and a winner will be drawn soon after! Keep an eye on my blog and shop for more details to come...! redpossum.etsy.com

revival?
last week i had intended to join in the weekly challenge set by the european group on etsy , and the theme had been revival.
but after i saw some of the entries, i realised i had interpreted revival all wrong! Everyone else had made really colourful things like, the 60's revoltution or something.i had been thinking of a spiritual revival, and thought of like, the puritans! like this guy!
as a result i made this dress... needless to say, i didn't enter it! but i did list it! it looks more like a school dress to me. Still cute though!

finish what you started..
Today i decided it was time to finish projects that i started and actually get them up on my shop. i love new ideas, and finding great things to make, but i must admit, it's really hard to finish them sometimes! it's not because they are boring, but because there is always more exciting things to do!
Here is a jacket, size 4, that i started and i have just added the flannel lining today. I'm going to finish it with fabric buttons in the same fabric, and i'd like to find a hot pink fabric flower to add at a brooch on it. It's very autumnal, i think i might call it Autumn in Luxemburg. Or Barcelona. I think that pattern is very modern, and i keep thinking of abstract architecture when i see it. I hope to finish it tomorrow...i'll let you know how i get on!

Arghh! the sun! it burns my eyes!
oh my goodness, the sun does still exist!
Today was the second sunny day we have had here this summer (no, i am not exaggerating..) and what an amazing day it was!
We went down to Glendalough, and it was so beautiful, mostly i have only been there in the baltic freezing cold wind, with icy bums, eating a picnic, and trying to convince ourselves that yes, this is enjoyable.
But today was really something else. The lake was sparkling! i forgot that happens when the sun hits the water. We walked the path through the tall pine trees and said hi to people coming the other direction. i sat on a mossy old wall for a while, waiting for my husband to finish taking abstract photos of bark and stuff. And i saw my first mushroom and heather this season. I love autumn, especially in the sun.

crisp air in your nostrils
I'm SOOOO excited! i managed to snag a treasury, and i wasn't even trying! it's like that, isn't it? trying too hard can make you loose it!
WHen i got it, i was so excited, i got all shaky and could hardly type!
I think i would have called it something else, but i just wanted to get it so bad..
I included a few of my team pals from European street team and Retro Handmade, so i hope they enjoy a little attention from it. Love your stuff guys!

these days our house looks like a furniture warehouse, with loads of great furniture waiting to one day look stunning.. however, we seem to be struggling to find the time (and the space!) to do them!
Maybe if i put them on my blog and as things start to happen i can post photos of it, and at the end i will look back and be really proud of them! Like before and after shots!
here is project number 1 (as in, it's number one because it has been waiting patiently the longest..)
i think i has some good looking legs on it! I think i want to paint it very glossy, high shine black, and leave the glass top on it.. we have some handles for it,.. but i will leave that as a surprise for when i actually put this on,and it looks truely stunning..
